2021 BMW X3

When properly equipped with the optional BMW towing hitch, the 2021 BMW X3 towing capacity reaches a max of 4,400 pounds. That’s more than enough to tow lightweight aluminum boats, smaller camping trailers, or ATVs. All the BMW X3 trim-levels can tow confidently with the optional hitch, and you can further customize your towing by choosing between the available drivetrains and powertrains. We’ve listed the details for all Chula Vista drivers below.

BMW Towing Features

The BMW towing features are designed so that you can enjoy everything your X3 has to offer. This model is on the smaller side of the BMW SAV® lineup, but these included safety and technology features allow it to handle weight that even larger competitors would struggle with on El Cajon roads:

  • Dynamic Traction Control
  • Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)
  • Brake Fade Compensation
  • Start-off Assistant
  • Brake Drying and Brake Stand-by
  • 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes
  • Dynamic Brake Control
  • Cornering Brake Control
  • Servetronic power steering assist
  • Rear-view camera
  • Active Driving Assistant

When you upgrade to higher trim-levels, you gain access to even more useful towing features, including Surround View with a 3D View system, Active Lane Keeping Assistant, adaptive headlights, and more. Don’t forget to equip the available towing hitch ($550) and check out our favorite BMW X3 accessories while you’re at it.
